Sailin' On

Vegetarian offerings on Edmonton food trucks are on the rise. Gone are the days of trucks only serving up meat-centric items like hot dogs and hamburgers. From garden poutine to grilled cheese sandwiches, there’s no shortage of delicious vegetarian options to sink your teeth into.

Here’s a round-up of some of the must try vegetarian offerings from Edmonton food trucks.

Sailin’ On
As Edmonton’s vegan only food truck, Sailin’ On has tons of veggie options that will satisfy your food truck craving.  Opt for ‘The Irish’ and indulge on crisp curry chips topped with vegan cheddar, vegan garlic mayo, cabbage, carrot, and green.

Chedda Heads
Grilled cheese sandwiches are a staple on the Chedda Heads food truck and their ‘Hellbent’ sandwich is the perfect combination of gooey and crispy. Two slices of bread are filled with a three cheese blend, avocado, and crushed nachos chips.

Fab Food On Four
While this food truck mostly serves up meat-based sandwiches their creamy broccoli salad should not be dismissed. Broccoli is topped with cheddar cheese, almonds, cranberries, and their homemade poppy seed dressing.

Drift
Travel to the Mediterranean with Drift’s very own falafel sandwich. A chickpea and herb patty is topped with pickled red onion, tzatziki, and greens.

La Poutine
This Edmonton food truck serves up a Canadian classic in over a dozen ways. Vegetarians rejoice as their garden poutine hits all the right notes. Hand-cut fries, cheese curds, and gravy are topped with sautéed mushrooms, sautéed onions and green peas.
